Craft Fair at Hilo High School, Sat 12/1, 9-3

It's that time of the year again, the holidays are upon us and so is the Hilo High School PTSA (annual) Holiday Faire. It's in the cafeteria, 9-3 on Saturday, Dec. 1.

I'll be there with some plants, jewelry and beads and other jewelry making supplies. New this year are some Chinese crystal strands, some pewter spacer beads, lots of new freshwater pearls and some new Swarovski crystal colors. Of course I will also have some velvet seeds, both drilled and not drilled. For plants I'll have some clove seedlings, velvet seed tree seedlings and definitely bell pepper seedlings, probably some tree tomatoes, spider lilies, mondo grass, possibly a small Norfolk Pine or 3. I have dried cloves but I forgot to put them on the list so I don't know whether they'll allow me to sell those there.

Not quite a disaster, but that's how the week started ...

Before what happened (or I knew about it) what I posted in the last two posts there was something that affected my weekend rather adversely. Saturday late morning I emailed the telescope system specialist at JCMT that one of the data disks was rather full. As I know very little about what can be deleted from these disks when that's all I could do at the time. The email I used to get from a cron job (automatic procedure) didn't happen either. A bit after midnight I reopened an old fault entitled "No space left on device" - after responding to a new fault that had been filed that night. A long email exchange followed, partly that night, partly the following days. Disk space got sorted out and for all I remember no telescope time was lost due to this. A bunch of people (me included) spent a bunch of time, partly due to confusion of what had happened - and it disrupted the weekend for all of us. It wasn't a real disaster but if we hadn't paid attention, for telescope productivity it could have been.

In more recent news, we just got an update from the UKIRT Board who issued a statement in response to the STFC - the UKIRT Board met in Edinburgh at the ATC at the same time this all happened. Re-ordering Ornela seed beads, probably next week

All colors and sizes of the Czech Jablonex Ornela seed beads I currently have in stock are now available in my Etsy shop (or have recently sold and not been re-listed yet. As I'm running out of some colors I'm about to re-order. I will be adding 6/0 and 11/0 silver lined topaz and light topaz (more like amber colored), ruby and emerald, and possibly a 6/0 blue color (suggestions?) as well as 11/0 jet black (local customer request).



Other than that I'm open to suggestions. Please contact me by early next week for this order (email, Facebook message, Lampwork Etc. PM (I will make some more room in those if necessary), blog comment, whatever works - phone calls are probably the worst option), though I have to say I would prefer not to branch out into other sizes, and my supplier does not have all colors you may find elsewhere.
